What writing programs work on both mac and windows computers?

I have a pc and use microsoft word alot. What program can I use to send text write ups to someone on a mac computer? Will the notepad or wordpad programs that are with windows work on the mac os. I believe I can use adobe, but I only have the reader part of that program.

You can use free pdf converter to convert ms-word documents to pdf like http://www.primopdf.com/ http://www.cutepdf.com/Products/CutePDF/writer.asp Remember pdf file cannot be edited by other person who receive it It is simple as selecting printer when saving it in ms-word in which case it will be pdf convertor (acting as printer) which will print it (i.e. transform ms-word document) in your computer as pdf file. OR Notepad, wordpad, ms-word = save document as text i.e. TXT or RTF(rich text file,, which allow some/limited formating like bold, underline etc) which both can be read in any operating system like mac, linux, unix etc. It can be edited by person recieving it.
  4. If you send then as rich text documents (.rtf) any system in the world can read then.
